Canney welcomes funding for Schools in Galway East

I have been informed by the Department of Education that two National Schools in Galway are to receive additional accommodation. Newtown National School is set to receive two mainstream classrooms including ensuite toilets, one Special Education room and one Office.
St. Brendan’s Boys National School Loughrea is to receive four new Special Education Training rooms.
‘Both projects have been approved by the Department of Education and adds further to the expenditure on providing modern educational facilities in our National Schools in Galway East. It is also important that the National Schools can provide education for Special needs in the proper environment and the allocation of funding to provide special education rooms is vital for this service to be provided’.
‘I will continue to work with the Department of Education and Department officials to provide further funding for other schools in the constituency.
‘I would like to congratulate both schools for their efforts in ensuring that these facilities are put in place. I want to compliment the Department of Education for their proactive approach to these applications for funding’.
