Galway Rural Development are delighted to be working with Equal Ireland in offering a FREE degree to Women aged over 21 in County Galway .

This course is strictly for women who are not in paid employment or receiving unemployment assistance or benefit. However, they may be in receipt of carer’s, disability, lone parents allowance etc.

Stage one is “Learning to Learn”- Introduction to study skills, assignment preparation and general information on how the course is run and its format. 1-2 months duration from start.

Available in 2 locations: First workshop date as follows :

Ballinasloe: Wednesday 8th November 9.30am -4pm
Tuam: Thursday 9th November 9.30am -4pm

Stage two is “Essential Skills Certificate”- IT skills, Humanities, Enterprise, Communications and Numbers.
Duration 6 months

Both stages involve one contact day per month and the remainder online.
Both the Learning to Learn and the Essential Skills Certificate is accredited by the Letterkenny Institute of Technology.

Stage three is “Higher Certificate in Business Enterprise and Community Development”- Media Skills, Office and Financial Management, Organisation Management, Sociology and Ireland and EU Governance.
Duration: 12 months

Stage four is “BA in Business Enterprise and Community Development”- Business Development, Financial Analysis, Technology, Human Resources, Community Development and a Learning Project.
Duration:12 months

Stages three and four involve two contact days per month, the remainder online. There are no exams.
