Minister Seán Canney Welcomes €1 Million Funding Package for Men’s Sheds
Leader of the Independent Team of Ministers and Minister for International and Road Transport, Logistics, Rails and Ports, Seán Canney TD, has welcomed the announcement of a €1 million funding package by Ministers Dara Calleary and Jerry Buttimer to support the vital work of Men’s Sheds across Ireland.
The funding, which will be administered by the Irish Men’s Sheds Association, will provide grants to assist with essential running costs such as heating, electricity, insurance, and other operational expenses. It is expected that over 450 registered Men’s Sheds will benefit.
“This is a timely and important investment in the wellbeing of our communities,” Minister Canney said. “Men’s Sheds play a key role in promoting social inclusion, particularly among older men, offering a safe and welcoming space to share skills, enjoy companionship, and contribute to local projects.”
