I was honoured to address the Mná na hÉireann Women of Ireland Awards at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin, last night.
The Mna na hÉireann Women of Ireland Fund is a €1.8 million fund created by SInnovationIRL in partnership with my Department Dept RCD and Bank of America .
There were some inspirational speeches and a great performance by the Belle Harmonics choir.
The six awardees were:
Amplifying Rural Women’s Voices, Equal Ireland
Dress for Success Dublin
Here Comes the Girls, Westmeath Community Development
Integration from Day One, the Irish Refugee Council
Super Women, Transgender Equality Network Ireland
and Women’s Education Programme, An Cosán Virtual Community College.
The goal of the fund is to double the impact of the awardees so that they can strengthen their community impact and empower 1,000 women to secure sustained employment in Ireland.
