Seán Canney TD, Minister of State for International and Road Transport, Logistics, Rail and Ports and Leader in Cabinet of the Independent Ministers, has welcomed the fact that the new online post-primary school admissions system is now live in Athenry.
From today (October 1st) until 22nd October, parents and guardians can apply for first-year places, including special class places, through the new portal applytoschool.ie. The pilot is being run in five areas nationally, including Athenry, and will streamline the admissions process, reduce stress for families, and ensure greater transparency.
Three Athenry schools are participating:
- Clarin College
- Coláiste an Eachréidh
- Presentation College
Minister Canney said: “I am pleased to see this new system now open for parents in Athenry. By making it simpler and clearer to apply for school places, it will provide real benefits for families and help schools manage enrolments more efficiently.”
Round one offers will issue on 12th November, with round two offers following on 4th December.
