The Annual Report demonstrates an enhanced level of activity and impact across SEAI’s programmes, including:

  • 12,000 battery electric vehicles and 16,400 home chargers supported under grant schemes.
  • Over 28,400 residential solar PV upgrades, up almost 25% on 2023.
  • €22 million invested to support 42 new Research & Innovation projects across academia and industry.
  • Over €62 million in grant support provided to 13,500 businesses to improve energy efficiency.
  • €61 million provided to Public Sector Pathfinder projects, driving efficiency in schools, hospitals and other public facilities.
  • Launch of the new Business Energy Upgrade Scheme, expanding options for enterprises.

Minister Canney commented: “The SEAI’s achievements in 2024 show the scale of delivery now being achieved in helping households, communities, businesses and the public sector make the transition to clean, efficient energy. From home retrofits and solar PV to electric vehicles and business supports, SEAI’s programmes are delivering real results on the ground.

This work is central to meeting our climate targets and reducing our reliance on imported fossil fuels. I want to commend the SEAI team for their continued leadership in this space, and I will continue to support their work as we build a more sustainable and resilient energy future for Ireland.”
