COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME 2019

I am urging community and voluntary not-for-profit groups to get their applications in for the Community Enhancement Programme 2019.
The programme, which is funded by the Department for Rural and Community Development for which I am Minister of State, provides funding to enhance community amenities and facilities, particularly those in disadvantaged areas.
The funding covers capital projects only and should demonstrate added value. Match-funding from other sources is not a requirement under the programme.
Galway County Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) has been allocated an amount of €143,401 for the following:
Type A: Small scale capital projects up to a maximum grant of €3,000:
These include for example IT equipment, Sports Equipment, Safety Equipment, Training Equipment, energy efficiency equipment, Men’s Sheds and so on.
Type B: Medium scale capital projects up to a maximum grant of €15,000:
These include, for example, development/renovation of Community Centres, improvements to town parks and community amenities and sports/recreation facilities.
Applicants must submit a completed Application Form and supporting documentation on or before the closing date of 5pm on Thursday May 30 2019 by (a) e-mailing a signed scanned version to [email protected]
OR (b) posting it to Community Grants, Economic, Rural and Community Development Department, Galway County Council, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway.
