I am very concerned over proposals by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to change the location of speed limits in towns and villages.
The proposals include a plan to move the speed limits closer to towns. This will leave housing estates and other developments outside the speed limits. This will mean that access onto major roads from existing housing estates will be onto roads with higher speed limits. This is a serious concern.
Towns such as Ballygar, Mountbellew, Abbeyknockmoy, and Newbridge will be affected by the proposed changes. I am calling on TII to reconsider their proposed changes for safety reasons.
