I have been informed by the HSE that an interim ultrasound service will commence in Tuam Primary Care Centre on the 8th March.
“In relation to the availability of x-ray facilities, the HSE have confirmed that they are progressing the detailed design of the required clinical room, this design will be complete by end of April. Following completion of the detailed design the works will be tendered”.
“Finally, we are reaching a conclusion to this long running saga and I expect full diagnostic services to be in place by end of this year”.
“When fully operational it is envisaged that up to 3,000 x-rays and 6,000 ultrasounds will be carried out in Tuam”.
“I have been working to get these services in place and I acknowledge the support of former Minister for Health Simon Harris in providing the funding needed to deliver these services”.
