Construction work at Dunkellin Bridge has begun again following approval from the Office of Public Works.
Today I met with the contractors, engineers and the OPW on site.
I re-emphasized the concerns of local people about the huge disruption that last year’s collapse during works had caused to the area.
I urged all those involved to ensure that the bridge reopens as soon as possible.
I also visited the OPW works at Craughwell bridge which is part of the Dunkellin Flood Relief Scheme. Councillor Geraldine Donoghue joined me for the visit.
