European Day without a Road Death

Today, Wednesday 19th September, is European Day without a Road Death. The campaign aims to ensure that no one dies on European roads on Edward Day. All road users are encouraged to think, even for a few minutes, about the risks they face, the risks they may pose to others and how they can reduce those risks.
Galway County Council’s Road Safety Together Committee is promoting a campaign encouraging all road users to use their dipped headlights during daylight hours.
Road conditions around County Galway are particularly hazardous today with storm Ali sweeping across the region and I would urge all road users to stay safe on the roads today.
