Projects in County Galway have been allocated a total of €38,163,000 by the Department of Rural and Community Development since the Department’s formation in 2017.
Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney said: “I am delighted that Galway has received a substantial amount of funding from my department.
“The Department was set up specifically to provide vital support for rural areas and communities in need.
“It administers a variety of funding schemes, including the Rural Regeneration Fund, the Town and Village Renewal Scheme, LEADER funding, CLÁR funding and the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.
“Funding from these schemes has made an enormous difference to so many towns, villages, communities, clubs and organisations throughout Galway East.
“In 2017, Galway projects received approval for €6,445,698 in project funding, in 2018 the county received €14,164,289 and in 2019 the county received €17,553,015.”
