The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) has introduced a new service to bring COVID-19 testing personnel to vulnerable people who are unable to attend test centres.
This is a very welcome initiative by the association.
The IWA is working with the Health Service Executive to use its fleet of buses to bring those carrying out tests to people who cannot attend the existing centres.
This community-based service will include older people and those with disabilities and it will be of particular value to those living in rural and isolated areas.
Nationally the association has 117 buses so this will be an important facility all around the country.
Anyone concerned that they may be developing COVID-19 symptoms should phone their GP, who will advise on whether a test is necessary.
