Seán Canney TD, Minister of State for International and Road Transport, Logistics, Rail and Ports and Leader in Cabinet of the Independent Ministers, is encouraging people looking to buy, build or renovate a home to check the range of Government supports available to them.
A new national public information campaign, Starter Home Supports, has been launched to make it easier for people to understand and access five key housing supports.
The supports covered by the campaign are:
- Starter Home Purchase Scheme
- Help to Buy Scheme
- First Home Scheme
- Cost Rental Housing
- Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant
Minister Canney said the campaign would help people identify which supports may be relevant to their own circumstances.
“Buying or building a home is a major step and, for many people, working out what supports they may qualify for can be difficult in itself.
“The purpose of Starter Home Supports is to bring that information together in one place and make it easier for people to see what options are available to them.
“I would particularly encourage anyone who is hoping to buy or build a home, or who has been considering renovating a vacant or derelict property, to take some time to look through the supports. Depending on individual circumstances, there may be assistance available that can make a real difference.”
