Mobile phone network operators should be targeting their best deals at people who are cocooning.
Many pensioners and vulnerable people have been telling me they are concerned that they will face spiralling bills with increased use of their mobile phones when isolating because of COVID-19.
As chairperson of the Mobile Phone and Broadband Taskforce, I am urging the mobile network providers to be more pro-active in helping older and more vulnerable people to find the right arrangements to meet their needs.
I think this would be a service to the community and makes good business sense.
I am also urging those cocooning to shop around to find the best deals available for their needs.
Some people may be able to fix their monthly outgoings at a reasonable rate while maintaining the increased level of usage they now require.
