A number of measures have been put in place to relieve some of the pressure on GPs and pharmacists while still ensuring continuity of care of patients during the crisis.
Among these are the ability for electronic transfer of prescriptions to a pharmacy, the extension of the maximum period of validity of a prescription from 6 months to 9 months and also some temporary changes to the way in which prescriptions can be repeated.
