An extension of time for spreading slurry must be made available to farmers in East Galway, according to local TD and Minister for State, Seán Canney.
‘I have spoken to Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed regarding the need to extend the time for slurry spreading due to the recent wet weather, which has prevented the spreading of slurry on many farms in this region.
‘Minister Creed has also expressed his concerns and stated that he will keep the matter under review in coming days. He indicated that with the present spell of fine weather he will be reviewing the situation on an ongoing basis this week.’
