I welcome the decision by the Department of Jobs & Enterprise to extend the Small Business Assistance Scheme for COVID to include non-rateable premises in the scheme.
“This issue is one that I have raised through questions to the Tánaiste following representations from many small businesses working from home”.
“It is important for these businesses to be supported and whilst late, the decision has to be welcomed”.
“Self employed working from home such as event caterers, home office, hot desk, wedding planners, on course book makers and photographers are amongst those expected to benefit”.
“The scheme is available for businesses whose turnover are affected by the COVID restrictions. Many small businesses affected by the pandemic were being excluded from this support scheme which was completely unfair”.
“Business owners who feel that they may qualify should contact their Local Authority in the first instance for further details”.
