I welcome the €36,230,409 funding allocated to Galway County Council for the 2021 roads programme.
“I am particularly delighted with a further allocation of €1.5 million for the Kilbannon road realignment and a further €1 million for the Athenry Relief road sections 3 and 5”.
“The inclusion of almost €1.4 million for drainage works is also very welcome as there are many roads that suffer from localised flooding.
This funding will allow Galway County Council to deal with many of the poor road surfaces across Galway East and I look forward to seeing the works being carried out in the coming months.
“I commend the Council and all the roads engineering staff who have put together the application which reflects the volume of work that needs to be carried out on out local a d regional roads”.
