I welcome the decision by An Bord Pleanála to grant permission for the Galway City Ring Road this week.
The Ring Road form part of the overall Galway Transport Strategy for the City.
The project will act as an enable to all the city to grow in a sustainable way. It will also help relieve the traffic congestion in the city.
The Ports of Galway and Ros an Mhíl will have access to and around the city to allow connectivity.
The project will be a major asset to improving traffic flows into the city and factories in Parkmore and Mervue for commuters from the East of the County.
