Seán Canney TD, Minister of State for International and Road Transport, Logistics, Rail and Ports and Leader in Cabinet of the Independent Ministers, is encouraging farmers participating in the ACRES Co-operation approach to engage with their ACRES Advisor following the opening of the 2026 application window for Non-Productive Investments (NPIs).

The application window opened on 1 July, and will remain open until 14 October 2026.

Non-Productive Investments provide voluntary supports for environmental actions that help farmers improve the environmental standard of their land. These actions can also contribute to higher field scores under the results-based payment system, potentially leading to increased ACRES payments.

Minister Canney said: “This is an important opportunity for ACRES Co-operation farmers to access support for practical environmental improvements on their farms while also strengthening their potential payments under the scheme.”

“I would encourage all eligible farmers to speak with their ACRES Advisor as soon as possible to explore the range of Non-Productive Investments available and ensure applications are submitted before the 14 October deadline.”

Applications must be submitted by ACRES Advisors on behalf of participating farmers through the Department’s GLAM mapping system.
