I along with Independent Councillor Geraldine Donohue are calling residents in the Gort Lowlands Region of County Galway to have their say on the South Galway Flood Relief Scheme.
“If for some reason you are a landowner or resident in any of the affected areas and are unsure what questions to ask or just want to know more about what is proposed it is important that you have your opinion or suggestions on the record”.
“The website is quite technical, and no one should feel silly for asking even the simplest of a question or highlighting their concerns. It is vital that any local knowledge for such a mammoth scheme be recorded and such knowledge is welcomed by all”.
“Galway County Council and the Office for Public Works (OPW) are bringing forward plans to deliver the South Galway (Gort Lowlands) Flood Relief Scheme. The proposals aim to develop flood protection measures across the region and mitigate the impacts of extreme flood events. To inform the final design of the scheme and prior to submitting the planning application, Galway County Council and the OPW are currently holding an online public consultation as a result of COVID-19 restrictions and this is due to close on 3 April 2021”.
It is important to have your say on this proposal and you can do so by
A. Email: s[email protected]
B. Phone: 091 509 309 – Ryan Hanley
C. Or by Post to: South Galway – Gort Lowlands Flood Relief Scheme Galway, County Council, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, H91 H6KX
An online questionnaire is available for you on the consultation website to submit your views – visit https://southgalwayfrs.ie/questionnaire/
