I have received confirmation from the HSE that the long-awaited X-Ray facilities are to commence installation by June this year and will be operational before the end of the year.

The HSE have further confirmed that the Ultrasound Service was increased to a 5 day a week service in January of this year and GPs can now directly access this service for their patients.
The HSE have also confirmed that the National Primary Care have invested in staff, equipment, and capital funding for the development of Diagnostic Services in Tuam Primary Care Centre.
Currently the Ultrasound is delivered by two Ultra Sonographers, a healthcare assistance, and the service of Administration staff support. A Radiographer has been recruited for the delivery of the X-Ray service.
Tuam Primary Care Diagnostic Service in being developed in conjunction with Portiuncla University Hospital Ballinasloe, Primary Care Community Healthcare West, and HSE Capital & Estates.
“I acknowledge the support given to me by Simon Harris TD former Minister for Health who allocated funding for these vital services in 2017. I urge the HSE to ensure that the much needed and much delayed X-Ray service is operational without any further delay”.
