I have received confirmation from the Road Safety Authority (RSA) that 40 additional staff are currently being recruited to the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) to help deal with challenges faced by the service over the last year.
“The RSA have also confirmed that an effort to remedy the difficulties associated with the roll out of the new Customer Portal have now improved the service”.
“The RSA have given me a commitment that standard processing times for applications will be back to the normal 3-5 days by the middle of March”.
“I raised the issue of significant delay with the processing of licence applications and the lack of response by NDLS with the Minister for Transport Mr. Eamon Ryan TD in the Dáil and in written submissions and I am now satisfied that the issues I raised have been rectified”.
“The increase in the volume of postal applications and the hangover of Brexit related applications meant that customers had experienced long waiting times, but these delays are now being sorted”.
