Seán Canney TD, Minister of State for International and Road Transport, Logistics, Rail and Ports and Leader in Cabinet of the Independent Ministers, has announced that initial project approval has been granted for an extension at St Oliver Plunkett’s National School in Newcastle, Athenry.

The project will provide one additional mainstream classroom at the school and has been approved under the Modular Framework.

Minister Canney said: “This is good news for St Oliver Plunkett’s National School and the wider school community in Athenry.

“The initial approval provides for an extension to deliver an additional mainstream classroom, giving the school additional accommodation to meet its needs.

“I wish the school authorities every success as they progress the project through the next stages.”
