TUAM EDUCATE TOGETHER NATIONAL SCHOOL

Tuam Educate Together National School has been granted funding for its expansion so that it can increase its intake of pupils later this year.
This is great news from the Department of Education and Skills and means we can now move ahead with the conversion and expansion of the old St Pat’s building.
For Educate Together, it will involve creating four mainstream classrooms, four resource rooms, a principal’s office, a staff room and boys and girls toilets.
There will also be a mainstream classroom refurbished for St Pat’s school itself.
I have been centrally involved in the roadmap for Tuam’s national schools. As well as our plans for the Educate Together school, we will be amalgamating the other three national schools into one 32-classroom school.
The future of Tuam’s national schools will be secured for the next 40 years.
